Job Description
Responsibilities
- Ensure the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of boarding students.
- Act as the first point of contact for student concerns and pastoral care.
- Support students in adapting to boarding life and maintaining routines.
- Supervise students during hostel hours, study time, meals, and activities.
- Maintain discipline and enforce hostel rules and school policies.
- Address behavioural issues in coordination with school leadership and parents.
- Monitor student health and coordinate with the school nurse/medical team when required.
- Ensure adherence to safety, hygiene, and security protocols in the hostel.
- Handle emergencies and maintain incident records.
- Maintain attendance, leave records, and daily logs of students.
- Coordinate with housekeeping, security, and kitchen staff for smooth operations.
- Ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and proper use of hostel facilities.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student well-being and concerns.
- Coordinate with teachers, counsellors, and administrators for holistic student development.
- Support school events and residential programmes as required.
- Ensure teaching- learning of the STEM subjects in the evening prep along with other school teachers in the hostel.
- Promote IB learner profile attributes such as respect, responsibility, and empathy.
- Encourage positive behaviour, cultural sensitivity, and international-mindedness.
Requirements
• 6–12 years experience in residential/hostel settings
• Strong communication & student management skills
• Kannada & English proficiency
• Residential position with accommodation provided within the hostel premises.
